Burning River Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Our Pricing Philosophy: No Surprises. No Games. Just Good Jiu-Jitsu.

Joining a martial arts school shouldn’t feel like signing up for a cell phone plan. You shouldn’t have to decode a complicated contract, wonder what the “real” price is, or worry about unexpected fees two months after you join.

We believe in simple, honest, upfront pricing. You pay your registration fee and the monthly tuition option you choose. That’s it.

Our goal is simple: train hard, get better, and become your best—not nickel-and-dime our students.

So, What Does It Cost?

Our pricing is straightforward.

One-Time Registration Fee: $99

This is a one-time fee when you join. We will often waive the $99 registration fee if you join the same day after taking your free trial class.

No Long-Term Agreement

$199/month

Train as much as you want with no long-term contract. You can cancel anytime according to our membership terms.

12-Month Agreement

$149/month

Commit to one year of training. After the initial 12 months, your membership becomes month-to-month and you keep your discounted rate while you remain an active member.

Pay in Full

$1,698/year

Pay for 12 months of unlimited training upfront and receive approximately 5% savings compared with the $149 monthly rate.

No 36-Month Contracts. No 48-Month Contracts.

We don’t believe you should have to sign a three- or four-year contract to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Our longest initial commitment is 12 months. After that, you’re month-to-month.

Your discounted rate doesn’t disappear after your first year. As long as you remain an active member, you keep your $149/month rate.

Our Tuition Guarantee

We do not raise tuition on active students.

Yes, the cost of running a business goes up. Rent, utilities, insurance, and equipment all cost more. But we don’t believe our existing students should have to constantly pay more simply because our operating costs increase.

If you are an active student, your tuition rate will not increase.

We have students who have trained with us for many years and pay substantially less than our current tuition rates because they’ve maintained their memberships. We believe loyalty should work both ways.

What About Belt Testing, Equipment, and Other Fees?

Some martial arts schools charge additional fees for belt testing, mandatory uniforms and equipment, association dues, seminars, tournaments, private lessons, or other requirements. These fees can dramatically increase the cost of training. At Burning River BJJ, we don’t want to operate that way.

  • No mandatory belt-testing fees. We don’t believe students should have to pay hundreds of dollars to receive the next belt they’ve earned.
  • No mandatory branded uniforms. You need a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gi, but you don’t have to buy it from us. It simply must be appropriate for training and free of profanity or inappropriate imagery.
  • No mandatory association dues. You won’t suddenly discover another annual fee because you need to belong to an organization.
  • No mandatory seminars or tournaments. We may offer special events, but you won’t have to purchase them to remain a student or progress in your training.
  • No mandatory private lessons. Private lessons are available, but you don’t need to purchase them to learn faster or advance.

Your regular membership is designed to provide everything you need to train, learn, and progress.

Why Are We So Passionate About Transparency?

Choosing a martial arts school is a big decision. You’re trusting us with your time, your money, and your training—and, in the case of our kids’ program, you’re trusting us with your children.

We don’t want anyone joining Burning River BJJ only to discover fees they didn’t know about, restrictions they weren’t expecting, or another upgrade they need to purchase. We’d rather tell you exactly what it costs before you ever become a member.

We want you to join because you believe we’re the right place for you or your family—not because you got trapped in a complicated contract.

  • You pay your tuition.
  • You train as much as you want.
  • You get better.
  • You become part of the community.

No surprises. No hidden fees. No games.

Just good training, good people, and a commitment to helping you become your best.
